Jessica Nash(Jessica Nash)(@bookend_studio_jn_gmail_com)
PremierJessica Nash is a mixed media artist based in Fall City, Washington, creating work inspired by the wild edges and quiet rhythms of the Pacific Northwest. Born and raised in Alaska, she carries a lifelong connection to nature, movement, and creative exploration. After years in health care and a long season of creative experimentation, Jessica found her enduring artistic home in painting. Her mixed media practice blends intuition, layered color, and organic forms, echoing the landscapes and lived experiences that continue to shape her work. She lives in Washington with her husband, their two young boys, and a lively mix of pets. Balancing family life with her studio practice, Jessica draws steady inspiration from time outdoors—hiking, exploring, and cooking for the people she loves.

Artist Statement
My work follows the quiet pulse of the natural world and the stories that surface through movement, color, and form. Using flowing inks, watercolor, and layered textures, I explore the rhythms shared between the human body and the landscapes that shape us. Each piece begins with curiosity and unfolds through instinct, allowing organic reactions and unexpected shifts to guide the final composition. I’m drawn to the tension between control and release—the way pigment spreads across canvas, the way a line can suggest motion or stillness, the way light transforms a surface. These elements become a language of resilience, transformation, and the subtle emotional currents that run beneath everyday experience. My work invites viewers to pause, look closely, and find their own meaning in the spaces between line and light.

Recycled Rain Series
The Recycled Rain Series begins with canvases reclaimed from earlier attempts—surfaces gessoed over but still carrying the quiet memory of what came before. Each canvas is brought outside and surrendered to real weather, where rain becomes a collaborator, pulling pigment into drifts, fractures, and soft tidal movements no hand could plan. Once the storm has shaped its marks, the piece returns to the studio for refinement and layering, holding both the ghost of its previous life and the unique signature of the rain that transformed it. This series is rooted in renewal, co‑creation, and the beauty of letting the elements speak.

Abstract
My abstract practice is a space of play and discovery. I follow movement, texture, and intuition, letting the process lead me toward forms that feel alive. These paintings hold the energy of exploration — the joy of not knowing, the surprise of what emerges, and the quiet magic that happens when you let the work reveal itself.

Dark pigment collapses into molten color, dripping downward like the remnants of a fire that refuses to die. “Afterburn” captures the aftermath of intensity—strength rising through hurt, heat lingering in the spaces where truth changed shape.

Streaks of red and white cut through deep blues and violets, capturing the moment emotion breaks its boundaries. “Fury” is raw motion—layered, textured, and alive with pressure, heat, and release.
