Michele Knox is a self-taught abstract painter based in Olympia, Washington. Working in acrylic, oil, ink, and mixed media, she builds her paintings in spontaneous, layered gestures — allowing paint, texture, and movement to guide each piece toward its own conclusion. Her work is an ongoing meditation on what remains: after the storm, after the tide, after time itself has passed through. Her Lost in Tides collection draws on the Pacific Northwest — ocean, fog, and weathered coastlines — exploring memory and what emotional waters leave behind. The Old World collection turns toward Europe: chipped walls, antiques, and surfaces that seem to carry their own history, rendered in violet, olive, gold, and restless black. Alongside these, her Moody Blues and black-and-white minimalist works strip painting down to gesture and atmosphere. Introduced to museums and the performing arts by her grandmother at a young age, Michele has spent a lifetime finding beauty in transformation and unpredictability. She exhibits and sells her work from her Olympia studio. micheleknox.com · @micki_abstract_art
