Self-taught as an artist, I am blessed with a very active curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. I continue to explore new photography techniques to create non-traditional art through photography. In 2024, a workshop in Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) reshaped my vision—and a feature on my shift appeared in the online March 2025 issue of “ICM Photography Magazine.” I entered my image “Moonrise Over Peter Kirk Park” in two shows and was awarded a 2nd place ribbon in the 2025 Cascadia Competition cell division at the Washington State Fair and 2nd place People’s Choice at the Kirkland Seniors Art Show. As a former ribbon winner, I was on the Kirkland CIty Hall TWIK podcast on April 16, 2026 to discuss my art and the Senior Art Show. My "Two Painted Turtles Basking on a Log" received 1st place in the Senior Art Show in 2025. I was born in Massachusetts , but lived in many states. My favorite is Washington state. My family has been in Washington since late 1889. When I moved in 2017 from Southern California to Kirkland, WA. I felt like I had arrived home. Though I spent over three decades in IT positions, computer programming and web development, my creative side was always quietly growing. I have been making photos since my teens. My first darkroom class at UMass, Boston in the 1970s was exciting and I never stopped learning. Three years as a bookkeeper for Harvard’s Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts exposed me to a range of contemporary art.
Emma Graham (she/her), based in Seattle, WA, is a multidisciplinary artist focused on watercolor and gouache painting. She is known for her playful and colorful style that emphasizes exaggerated and strange perspectives of humans, plants, animals, and landscapes. She explores themes of belonging, self discovery, and play through her painting, engaging in a playful relationship with the sometimes unpredictable nature of water. Graham is a self-taught artist whose practice is rooted in creating intimate relationships with her materials. Her work has been shown across the Pacific Northwest and in various print magazines. Her current work is rooted in discovering what she calls her “personal folklore,” in an effort to deeply understand her sense of self, the world around her, her relationships with others, and her desire for others to connect to their own creative selves and histories.
I am a Bellingham, WA-based mixed-media nature artist with over 40 years of experience. As a teenager struggling with undiagnosed PTSD, artmaking was lifesaving for me, providing a calling, a practice, and a sense of generativity. I attended the Rhode Island School of Design and afterwards worked as a full-time artist–painting, exhibiting, visiting schools, libraries, and synagogues, and publishing two picture books–while raising my sons. In 2007, I returned to school for education, earning a master’s in 2009 (Harvard Graduate School of Education) and a doctorate in 2018 (Northeastern University), focusing on language and literacy for nontraditional and multilingual students. Until 2022, I taught academic writing to students of all ages and backgrounds, from incumbent workers at Boston hospitals to nursing students at UMass Boston and first-year Boston University students. The pandemic brought me back to the studio full-time, transformed. This year, I am participating in Surge, an art/science collaboration through the Museum of Northwest Art, and in 2024 I served as Visiting Artist at the Native Plant Trust in Massachusetts. I have exhibited and sold my work widely. View my work at https://www.juliebaer.com.

Steve Bisig is a Pacific Northwest fine art photographer based in South Bend, Washington. His black and white landscapes explore stillness, atmosphere, and emotional connection to place through forests, rivers, coastlines, and mountains shaped by weather, season, and time. His work grows from direct experience outdoors, often during long walks through rain, fog, tidal shorelines, and quiet backroads where subtle light and changing conditions reveal themselves slowly. Rather than pursuing dramatic spectacle, Steve is drawn to quieter moments that invite reflection and a slower way of seeing. Working in black and white allows him to reduce the landscape to form, texture, contrast, and mood. His photographs often explore solitude, resilience, transition, and the enduring character of the Pacific Northwest. His work has been exhibited in galleries and art spaces throughout Washington State and is collected by individuals seeking timeless, contemplative artwork for homes and shared spaces.
