Joyce Krachmalnick loves the flow of the oil-ladened brush as it dances across the canvas. The manipulation of paint to create realistic people and animals always gives her great delight and feels like visual poetry. She is inspired by visual artists such as William Adolphe Bouguereau because their life-like representations of people meld beautifully within the environment.
The main subjects of Krachmalnick's work are people and animals intertwined within their environments to show the beauty of our world. Her art-making process consists of planning her goals and composition to capture a moment to bring the subject to life; followed by preparing the canvas or panel, toning it, and painting it. When viewing work, she wants to immerse the viewer in a tiny piece of life.
