      What makes great portraits so captivating? Great drawing and composition are important but the subtle relationships between hue, value, chroma and temperature are what really make a portrait glow. In this two day intensive we will investigate some of the skills and techniques that will make your portraits luminous and beautiful.

      Themes for the Weekend

      • Practice an intuitive way of  Drawing
      • Understand the relationship between value and color
      • Understanding color relationships

      Why Attend this Workshop?

      • Watch Dominique demo and show you a process of painting in clear and consecutive steps.
      • We will use the basics of color theory to learn a simple color mixing process.
      • Learn to accurately and consistently mix any color in just 3 steps.
      • We will learn a 4 step process to break down the portrait into manageable steps
      • Use a chromatic primary palette of 7 colors that is designed to help you master color.
      • Use these skills to create 2 paintings by the end of the weekend.

      Who is this workshop for?

      • This unique workshop is limited to 6 students. It will feel more like a private lesson as each student will receive a lot of individual attention.
      • Skill level is not that important although basic drawing and color theory skills are a plus.
      • It is for any student that is interesting in receiving instruction and willing to put into practice.
