Fall Mandalas and Community Altar: an Afternoon of Creativity and Intention

Registration deadline

Friday, November 13, 2026

Class start date

Sunday, November 15, 2026

You are invited to immerse yourself in the colors and textures of fall as we slow down, create with nature's gifts and celebrate the beauty of late fall and the season of gratitude.

Join artist Vicki Basta at Slip Gallery in Seattle for a relaxing, hands-on Nature Mandala workshop filled with gorgeous autumn leaves, and other natural objects, creativity, meditation, and meaningful connection.

Imagine arranging richly colored pressed leaves and botanical treasures into beautiful, intricate patterns. Through the meditative process of creating a nature mandala, you'll explore the natural rhythms of the season while discovering the simple joy of slowing down and creating something with your hands.

Working from the center outward, you'll create your own one-of-a-kind botanical artwork to take home—a beautiful reminder of your connection with nature and the present moment.

Inspired by the work of Day Schildkret, author of Morning Altars, and Lisa Tenzin-Dolma, author of Natural Mandalas, we'll also explore the history and symbolism of mandalas and how this creative practice can invite mindfulness, reflection, and inner calm.

Autumn invites us to reflect on what we're grateful for, what we're ready to release, and what we'd like to welcome into our lives.

As part of our gathering, you'll have the opportunity to write a personal intention-a ritual for reflecting on what you’re ready to release, what you’re thankful for, what you’d like to welcome into your life or any other intention that feels right and place it in a shared intention jar on our seasonal community altar.

What You'll Experience:

  • Create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind mandala using pressed fall leaves and botanical materials.
  • Experience the calming, meditative rhythm of arranging natural patterns.
  • Reflect on gratitude, seasonal change, and personal intentions.
  • Contribute to a community altar celebrating connection and the spirit of fall.
  • Take home your own nature-inspired artwork.

All materials are provided, and you're welcome to bring your own pressed leaves or botanical treasures as well.

No art experience necessary! Just bring your curiosity, creative spirit and enjoy an afternoon of art, mindfulness, and community.
