The creation of encaustic paintings is a place where art meets science.

My passion to explore various cultures has given me many opportunities to travel. During my adventures, I often find myself taking photos of the small stuff, the colors and textures that are created in unique ways, or even the forgotten and unnoticed vignettes of a street scene or back alley. I was looking for a means to display my findings in a way other than flipping through a slideshow on the computer. Encaustic allows me to interpret those scenes and memories through textures, colors, and patterns in the wax.
