Plant Portraits
I make small gouache paintings of plants. I am delighted by the variety of shapes, colors, and patterns of plants and the challenge of capturing that complexity on paper. I lay down an pencil drawing and begin layering paint. Plants have so many shades of green; it takes experimenting to come close. I hope my paintings delight in and of themselves and lead you to take in the wonder of the plants around you.
