Most of the following paintings were done in southwestern winter light, southwest — because I’m a Seattle artist who yearns for warm cowgirl ambience in gray northwest winters. Mexican Panga

A panga is basically a longer rowboat than usual, used for line fishing by self-employed and family fishermen on the Baja. They use motors and will go out up to 30 miles and more. When they return, the boats are run up directly onto the sandy beaches, and pulled by rope by pick-up trucks to be turned upside down in a line of pangas on the beach.
