Artist Statement

Jen's painting process explores identity and themes of reconnection and self-worth, particularly through her perspective as an adoptee.  She infuses multiple layers of color, texture, and gestural marks onto the canvas, evolving alongside her art by constantly discovering new techniques and color combinations that spark curiosity. Her work is designed to be a meditative healing experience, inviting viewers to find quiet moments of introspection and peace.    Following a 30-year career in nonprofit leadership, Jen maintains a deep commitment to empowering others to live their life purpose. In January 2025, she launched Women Creating Circle, a community-focused collective that integrates art and activism to build community for women.   Mentorship/Training: Studied under Flora Bowley, Nicholas Wilton, Louise Fletcher, and Betty Franks; mentored by Meredith Arnold (Meaux, France).
