BemisArts and United Creations are pleased to announce a Call For Art. The call is open until June 30, 2017. We are reaching out to known members of the local Seattle art community to announce this new opportunity to show your art.

THE EVENT
Unity at the Bemis is a juried and curated charitable art show running Aug 4-6th at The Bemis Building in SoDo, less than 2 blocks from The Seattle Art Fair at CenturyLink Field. The goal of this community-centric art show is to raise at least $25,000 to support local homelessness through the work of Facing Homelessness – a direct-action non-profit that works closely with homeless citizens. The show will feature between 40-50 Northwest artists, with affordable art up for sale throughout the 3-day event.

FOR ARTISTS
Our Call for Artists is up and running on Café right now, so please check it out here. This juried show is being curated by Diane Venti, owner of the Alki Arts gallery. Artists will keep 50% of proceeds from each sale, while the remainder, after expenses have been covered, will be donated directly to Facing Homelessness.

Participation is open to artists who work in all mediums – 2D & 3D, local, visiting, emerging and established artists. The Unity at the Bemis Committee is dedicated to creating culture-building events, and uniting regional talent through the promotion of art.

FOR SPONSORS
We are seeking a Title Sponsor as well as Floor Sponsors and Unity Sponsors, to be sent a Sponsorship Package please [email protected] – as we sign up sponsors we will be adding them to the website and all of our promotion materials. It is anticipated that our digital marketing efforts will generate in excess of 100,000 unique impressions. All sponsors will receive tickets to a Champagne Preview the night before the show opens to the public, this event will include a tour of the Bemis Building and a chance to preview all of the art.

ABOUT THE VENUE
The Bemis building’s top 2 floors are made up of artist live/work studio lofts which create a unique venue in Seattle for producing art shows – in large part due to the expansive size of its hallways and the eclectic studios spaces of its resident artists. The footprint of 30,000 sq ft per floor boasts 10ft wide hallways and 18ft high ceilings; creating an incredible exhibition space.

The vision for the building’s renovation in 1996 was to create studios where artists could live and work, while simultaneously constructing exhibiting spaces large enough to foster the development of an art community independent of the surrounding area. At that point in time the Bemis was outside the mainstream gallery area, but this renovation turned a declining industrial landmark into an art destination.
