Follow this link to register on Paige’s website!

Join us for an introduction to creating & using inks you made yourself from foraged leaves, flowers, or common foods and spices found in the kitchen.   To kick start your sustainable creative practice, we will then use the created inks to design small works of abstract art on watercolor paper.

In addition to your art piece, each participant will take away a small ink sample made in class as well as instructions on how to practice these techniques again on your own

      What’s the cost?

      Workshop fee is $55

      Who is the instructor?

Paige St-Pierre is a Seattle based textile artist, zero waste advocate and sustainable clothing specialist on a mission to normalize textile repair and reuse. She devotes her time to various textile arts; primarily sewing, slow stitching, natural dyeing with plants and flowers and ink making. When not making wearable art for her upcycle business, she teaches mending, slow stitching and upcycling workshops in the greater Seattle area. She is a certified Zero Waste Associate with Zero Waste USA. She has a degree in Apparel Design from Seattle Central College, a Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature, and a Master’s in Teaching both from the University of Washington. Keep up with her latest endeavors by visiting her website paigest-pierre.com and Instagram @paigestpierreapparel.

Space: Summit Selvage is located on the corner of 12th Ave and Pike St in Capitol Hill, Seattle. The entrance door will be propped open on the 12th Ave side. The space is down the stairs and the last door on your left. The basement is shared with dance studios, and has unisex bathrooms on the third floor. Parking is a big challenge, but luckily we’re 1 block from the 2, 12, and 11 bus stops, as well as .5 miles from the lightrail station.

Covid: Masks and vax are currently recommended. Subject to change before class.
