Are you curious about the inner workings of printmaking?

Join us as participants learn tips and tricks on safely and effectively carving wood to create a repeatable image from printmaking experts.

Description: With your RSVP you guarantee your spot for the printmaking workshop, artist talk, and entry to the outdoor demonstration all at Sidereal Fine Art Press in Tukwila, WA.

Cost: FREE. We have recently received generous funding from 4Culture and The City of Tukwila Art Comission.

Your instructors: Jacoub Reyes is a large-scale printmaker and installation artist based in Miami, Florida. With years as a cultural practitioner and artist educator, they will present a comprehensive but condensed insight into printmaking.

At this workshop, participants will:

• Attend a seven-hour instructor-led artist workshop with a one-hour lunch break
• Work on 8 x 10″ plates while learning how to scale your image up for larger plates and prints. (Hand printing and use of press printing materials are included in the workshop fee.)
• Have the opportunity to contribute one of your prints to the art on view during Jacoub’s exciting print demonstration occurring later in the week
• Join in on an artist talk as Jacoub leads a large print demonstration
• Take your art and block home with you so that you can continue the process on your own.
• Instruction and materials are included in the workshop fee

*Sept. 5th will include a shared meal, live music and conclude the hosted event with Sidereal Press.

More info: Limited to 15 participants each workshop and 100 people at each of the 2 outdoor demonstrations. The events will wrap up with a Labor Day Potluck Celebration. These are in person events at Sidereal Fine Art Press, RSVP required to attend.
