Join us for the opening reception of “Blind Birds, Winged Dreams,” featuring work by Gilchun Koh and Chris Maynard!
Gilchun Koh and Chris Maynard’s environmental activism is at the forefront of their art. Koh creates etchings of birds with their heads bound, symbolizing the human-caused environmental destruction of his home, Jeju Island, South Korea. Maynard is based in the PNW and known for his intricately carved bird feathers that draw on his background as a biologist and highlight a deep appreciation for the natural world.
