Gage Academy of Art is hosting a special exhibition called In Depth: Exploring Perspective. The exhibition will feature sculptures from the Seattle Figure Sculpting Society, as well as other 3-dimensional and 2-dimensional works from Gage Academy students. Artists of all mediums were invited to submit works that explore “depth” in either its real or perceived state. From the perspective offered by observing a 3D work from different angles to the illusory perspective experienced through a flat plane, the show will feature artworks that offer depth to each individual artist.
Please join us for a special Opening Reception on Thursday, February 15th from 6:00pm–8:00pm, and meet the artists featured in the exhibition. Wine, refreshments, and light appetizers will be provided.
The Seattle Figure Sculpting Society, a Gage-affiliated artist collective, has been meeting for over three decades in an open studio setting to teach and learn sculpture techniques from one another. Gage has been honored to support their long-standing exploration of the three-dimensional art form, and we are inspired to invite other artists to consider what depth means to them.
