Gallery Reception - Kenmore City Hall Gallery

Kaitlin J Robinson – Landscape Paintings with LED lights

Diane Walker – Abstract Paintings

September 7 - November 13, 2026

Gallery Reception Saturday, September 19, 1-2:30pm.

Kait Robinson's love for the peace that the Pacific Northwest brings has been an inspiration for this new series. To produce these paintings, she scars wood panels and uses various textures with molding pastes, preserved moss, or other mediums. Adding resin and battery-powered light from behind them creates an effect that takes these paintings to another level. As someone with an incurable autoimmune disease, she aims to create a collection that helps her overcome the challenges and share them with others.

For Diane Walker the most intriguing creative challenges in life, at work, and in art have always been about reconciling opposites: finding the common ground beneath obvious differences and unearthing the potential for unity that lies hidden in diversity. She works to accomplish those objectives, first by working with the opposite shades on the color wheel, and then by balancing dark and light, form and space, movement and stillness. Using a mix of broad housepaint brushes and delicate calligraphy brushes the end result, though unplanned, often tends to reflect the quiet undulations of sea and sky that are such an integral part of her life on the coast of the Pacific Northwest.

There will be a Gallery Reception to celebrate the artists on Saturday, September 19, 1-2:30pm. The artists will be speaking briefly on their work at 1:30pm. All are welcome to attend!
