Kathleen Johnson's life-long reverence for nature is evident in her art. The making and sharing of art has enhanced her feeling of connection with nature. Kathleen works primarily with acrylic on canvas. Favorite subjects include crows, owls, hummingbirds, and trees. Her affection for her subjects is conveyed to canvas; her colorful paintings are intended to spark an emotional response in the viewer. Two Crows Studio is the name of Kathleen's studio in Edmonds, WA (just north of Seattle). The studio was named for two fledglings who inspired Kathleen to create her Young Crow series. There is the line from an old rhyme "two crows for joy" and that is exactly what Kathleen hopes to inspire with her artwork - joy.
Kathleen also is known for her earlier work where she uses photography and computer-based tools to to create pieces that are a combination of photography and painting to create what she calls a "digital collage."
