Lagos paints in order to convey his instinctive urges to create. His passion is to invent imagery and bring it to the realm of reality in his paintings. In this manner, he relates his narrative and creative vision of the places that exist in his mind as memories, or from his imagination.

His thoughts, concepts about life are communicated through his gestural and brash strokes of paint on any given surface on which he paints. Lagos sets his aesthetic views within the context of a theory of the imagination. The influence of the French Impressionists and of the Expressionist artists from Die Brücke is evident in his works.

His devotion for painting is fueled by his ardent desire to share his artistic vision with the world. Variations on eternal neverchanging themes of life expressed as landscapes.

His process is pure and simple. He paints instinctively, until the right image appears on his medium of choice. Be it on corrugated cardboard or canvases, his work is composed of a compilation of paints that intertwined on a single surface result as a work of art.

Respect for sustainable and renewable materials leads him to paint on surfaces such as corrugated cardboard, paper bags and thus transforming the otherwise unremarkable materials into art.

He allows music, his moods, and the materials on which he paints, to guide him in order to compose and create his works of art. His paintings are inpacted by his life experiences through his travels.
