I work in both batik on silk fabric as well as palette knife and oils. Two very different mediums. Batik is about control/no control. Palette knife and oils is instant color.

Batik is wax resist on fabric. When dye touches the silk it spreads like crazy. The beeswax creates a boundary . It is this dance of control/ no control that captivates me for hours.
Using Palette knife with oils is instant color where I want it. I find knives easier to use.
Nature is my inspiration.
