Beth Van Faasen Betker

 I have worked in the arts for over 35 years, primarily self-taught but sometimes having the good sense to learn from others.  Immersion in the fiber arts gave way to two-dimensional painting in traditional fine-arts media.  My passion is the domain of human habitat and endeavor, the spaces we create and occupy.  I paint both outdoors and in the studio, currently by knife, creating large-format townscapes celebrating the odd beauty of  physical reality, that delicious mix of accident and intention.  I celebrate our infrastructure's dynamic relationship with circumstances -- costly and fragile as life.
