Description: Have you done a few painting classes or basic beginner oil painting workshops and ever wondered what it really takes to become an oil painter? Here’s the class for you! A workshop that sets the very beginner oil painter up to paint on their own.

In this workshop, you will learn about materials, oil painting techniques, and important studio hygiene practices to get started confidently on your own, as well as create several wonderful paintings. This class is taught in a hands-on and approachable format by professional artist Valencia Carroll. Bring a notebook and all of your oil painting questions. Supplies are included and refreshments will be served at the first session!

Participants aged 18 and up with any experience level are welcome. No prior knowledge or experience is required!

COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement: All participants 12 years of age and older are required to show a COVID-19 vaccine card (hard copy, photo, or digital scan) or a negative PCR COVID-19 test within 48 hours of the event to gain entry. Photos or scans of vaccine cards may be emailed ahead of time to Jonathan Booker, Arts Education Director, at [email protected] or presented at check-in. Masks and social distancing are required. There is no vaccine requirement for participants under 12 years of age.
