In her new solo exhibition, The Pulse of Water, June Sekiguchi presents a meditative reflection on the Mekong River in Laos. Using pattern, light and projection, Sekiguchi has created an immersive installation throughout the gallery by deconstructing and reconstructing her signature scroll-cut wood shapes. Through this process of rediscovery Sekiguchi manipulates her source materials in ways that express deeper metaphorical interpretation.
Gallery hours: Tuesday – Saturday from 11 am – 5:30 pm
Opening reception: First Thursday, October 3rd from 5-8 pm
Artist talk: Saturday, October 26th from 1-3 pm
Second reception: First Thursday, November 7th from 5-8 pm
