An event every day that begins at 11:00am, repeating until November 30, 2021
Gallery North in Edmonds is pleased to present as our featured artist for November: Mary Bess Johnson with The Family Tree, a look at members of several undersea families.
Mary Bess is fascinated by the seemingly endless variety between even closely related creatures. Nature has so many unique techniques for solving life’s challenges for these animals: evading predators, finding food and attracting a mate. Over her fifty plus years as a scuba diver, she has observed a wide diversity within species and has chosen some of her favorite images for this exhibit.
Mary Bess took her first underwater photograph in the early 1970s and has studied photography extensively. She seeks to bring back to her dry-land friends a sense of the sea’s lyric wonders. Her work has been exhibited internationally and her technical articles have been featured in undersea photography publications.
The public is invited to meet the artist on Saturday November 13th from 1-4 pm; also on Third Thursday ArtWalk, Nov. 18, from 5-8 pm.
