Paul Gasoi: Forty Year Retrospective features dozens of multi-media artworks from four decades of multidimensional explorations, along with new reports from the 21st century.
Gasoi is an internationally recognized and collected Psychedelic Visionary artist. His self-taught style draws on paint, drawing, photography, collage and sculpture to create an explosively unique body of work. Gasoi strives to find the elusive connection points between the realistic and the imaginary, the commonplace and the ultramundane. He was featured in a year-long exhibit at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, MD, and was included in the internationally touring exhibit Internal Guidance Systems curated by Anne Marie Grgich. Gasoi has work in the permanent collections of more than 20 museums in the US, Canada, Brazil, France and Japan. The show at Nii Modo is Gasoi’s first showing in Seattle in 10 years, and his first major career retrospective.
“Gasoi creates visceral works that flow and change while you look at them, illustrating the unpredictable and ongoing processes that are nothing less than life itself.” Anne Marie Grgich
