Fogue Studios is pleased to host the retrospective of Kathy Ross’ sculptural work in tin and mixed media.
At first glance Kathy’s work might strike the viewer as simple excess, but at closer inspection you’ll find yourself, like Alice, entering a Wonderland with jeweled backstories and repurposed materials revealing new secrets. Over the Top and Under the Surface is a solo exhibit highlighting different periods of Kathy’s work over the last 35 years.
The sculptures created make use of the world’s materials to create innuendos with a wink and nudge, as the viewer you are included in Kathy’s wry sense of humor. The Hatters, The Clouds, Shut up! … and so on
“A weed is defined as a flower out of place. The way music in the wrong place is noise.”
The exhibition opens June 3rd with an artist reception from 5-9pm which includes an artist talk at 5pm. The exhibit is open until the end of June.
