2023 Seattle/California Area NSAL Art Exhibition – Featuring 5 award-winning young 2-D Artists

One Night Exhibition of 5 outstanding young 2-D Artists representing our Seattle/California Area for National NSAL Art Scholarships

On Saturday, April 29th, 7-10PM, hosted by the Figure Ground Art Gallery in Pioneer Square, five Young Artists will exhibit their award-winning artwork for the first time. These Five young artists from the Seattle/California Area were chosen to represent us in the NSAL (National Society of Arts and Letters) 2-D art competition.  The Naomi Rabb Winston 2-D art Scholarship was $14,000 this year, and these 16–22-year-olds competed with hundreds of other young artists for these scholarship funds.

This is the inaugural year for our participation in our Seattle/California area. Chairwoman/Artist, Renee Plevy, recently having moved to Seattle, wanted to bring the NSAL 2-D art scholarships to our young artists. In prior 3 years, she had been the Florida Chairwoman, with 5 of her artists winning scholarship monies.

The following are the winning artists from our Seattle/California Area:

  • Andy DeLapp (22) – Seattle, WA – Cornish College of the Arts, BFA
  • Rachel Jang (17) – Bellevue, WA – Bellevue HS and Studio S Fine Art
  • Chloe Kim (16) – Issaquah, WA – The Overlake School, Redmond
  • Lilly Bouwer (18) – San Jose, CA – Leland HS, San Jose City College, The Art Student Atelier
  • Austin Picinich (18) – Kirkland, WA – Juanita HS, Cascadia College, Schack Art Center
