An event every day that begins at 11:00am, repeating until May 30, 2019
Edge of the Universe will feature new abstract work by Washington-based artist Andrew Rubinstein. Using layers of oil to create colorful parallel lines and “interstellar gateways,” Rubinstein meditates on the anxiety of the edges of the universe. In his work, Rubinstein creates new laws that govern emerging patterns and then breaks them down, producing compositions that arise intuitively, creating an interplay that brings vibrancy and motion.
Rubinstein received an MFA in Painting from School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his BA in English, emphasis in Creative Writing from University of Washington.
Artist Reception Saturday, April 20th, 2019 from 4 – 6 pm in Pioneer Square
