Leanna Leitzke Expresses Her “Dreams of Colors” in September Show at Gallery North.
Leanna Leitzke discovered her talent at an early age and set about training herself, as many artists have done ever since the Renaissance, drawing charcoal self-portraits and people around her.
She was surrounded by traditional influences as a child. Her mother introduced her to the world of classic paintings from Hermitage. She fell in love with the art of Michelangelo, Rafael and French impressionists Degas and Monet.
Leanna considers her mission in this world to create fine art that celebrates life and human spirit in order to fulfill a greater purpose–to touch the hearts of people who view her work. Her art is a combination of deep passion for art and everyday work. She typically works on several pieces at a time, as her inspirations vary and change and she is easily distracted.
After years of drawing and painting the human figure, miniature paintings of animals and landscapes, her work changed from impressionistic realism to more abstract looking images and back to impressionistic. This gave Leanna more freedom to express her passions for colors, lines, and forms .
She has won several awards and she shows her work throughout the country at many different Art Shows and Galleries.
