Fundraiser Dinner & Silent Auction For Max

by Joe McDonald on April 27, 2011

I was recently contacted by Josh Burt, the father of Max, asking for donations and support for a fundraiser they are having. Max will turn 2 years old this month and was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Neuroblastoma and a neurological disorder called Opsoclonus Myoclonus Syndrome. Even with having good insurance they are having a difficult time keeping up with all of the medical bills. Their friends have joined together to have a fundraiser for their son Max on Saturday May 21st.

The event will consist of a spaghetti dinner and silent auction. If anyone is interested in donating artwork or other items for the auction or would like to make a monetary donation to help, please contact Max’s father, Josh Burt at 206-409-4576 or by email at They have setup a family blog where you can learn more at

Max will turn 2 this month and every little bit helps.

Thank you.

Save the White Center, Southgate Skate Center, Seattle, WA While I’m not personally familiar with the art center or the building, I do like to support a good community cause. White Center for the Arts is an emerging nonprofit community arts organization and they are trying to save/buy the old skate building in White Center that they currently occupy. If they don’t raise enough money for this historic building, it will most likely be turned into a light industry factory.  It is perfect as a community cultural center for arts, education, performance, and history. It has always been community venue.
