Are you an artist with your own workshop or work in a shared work space? King County offers free workshops on the Hidden Hazards in the Arts. Four workshops are coming soon and these are all free to the public!
These entertaining and insightful workshops are designed for artists and art educators to help them protect themselves and their environment from toxic, corrosive and flammable chemicals, while still producing vibrant art.
Three of the workshops are at 4Culture – 101 Prefontaine Place S, Seattle
Thursday, January 10, 12-2 pm
Chemical hazards in jewelry, metalsmithing, and printmaking (especially intaglio)
Thursday, March 14, 6-8 pm
Chemical hazards in painting (aerosol spray paint, oil, water, acrylic), encaustic, pastels and adhesives (fixatives, glues, pastes)
Thursday, May 9, 12-2 pm
Chemical hazards in studio glass (glass blowing, slumping, fusing, grinding, etching and polishing)
One workshop is at Gage Academy of the Art – in the Geo Studio, 3rd floor.

Hidden Hazards in the Studio (painting, drawing and sculpting)
Many of you have attended a Hidden Hazards workshop in the past. If you or a colleague you know are interested in attending one of these workshops, please join in.
